Planting the seeds for growth

B&Q’s brand new £60 million Colchester superstore is the first to pilot a new way for the DIY giant to display its expansive line-up of house plants.

With the significant upturn in demand for the calming influences of house plants, the team at B&Q has looked to elevate the way the products are displayed to provide a stylish and easy to navigate solution for customers.

With a proven track record for delivering point-of-sale solutions to B&Q’s flooring department, Fathom has used its expertise in visual merchandising to create a statement area in the Colchester store.

Peter Barrett, Account Manager at Fathom, commented:

“We have enjoyed a fantastic working relationship with B&Q for many years, during which we have gained preferred supplier status thanks to the work we have carried out across their estate in many different divisions.
Therefore, to be asked to create a solution for their new houseplant area was extremely welcome, and one that offered our team a fresh and exciting challenge. Calling upon the skills of both our wood mill and metal fabrication departments, the result is a super stylish concept that is designed to draw the eye of the customer through multiple levels that show the varied mix of house plants at their very best.”
