Fathom was tasked with creating a suite of best-in-class POS furniture to showcase Headlam’s extensive brand portfolio, engineered for long-term agility to meet the following objectives:

Background
Headlam’s portfolio spans a broad range of flooring types and multiple brands within each category, stocked across hundreds of stores – each with distinct retail needs and varying floor space. They required a POS solution that met two key challenges: to unify six individual brands under a single system while preserving their unique identities, and to ensure adaptability for different store layouts and product range requirements.

The Solution
The resulting POS suite comprises seven modular displays tailored for LVT, carpet, laminate, wood and cushioned vinyl – each engineered for flexibility across varied retail formats. Adaptable fixtures include wall units, lecterns in multiple sizes and toast racks for hard flooring samples. Practical details such as LED spot-lit pelmets, interchangeable fabric graphic lightboxes, pull-out drawers and dedicated shelving for sample and pattern books maximise product visibility and user accessibility.
Designed for both adaptability and efficiency, the system evolves seamlessly with changing retail demands. Interchangeable sample books, removable graphics and versatile ticket strips ensure each fixture can be easily updated. Bold graphics, intelligent lighting and curated samples provide strong brand distinction within a cohesive system, resulting in a seamless, intuitive shopping experience that balances innovation with functionality.
