Brave The Shave

It’s hard to put into words how proud we are of every single member of the FATHOM family! This year, we decided to choose a charity to support throughout 2019 and the East Anglian Air Ambulance was chosen by our staff in a company-wide vote.

We have a number of different departments within the company, all of which have been allotted a month of fundraising so we can work together to reach our company target of £5,000. This month, the Paint Shop team have kicked things off with a “Brave the Shave” event, where James decided to have his long locks shaved off for charity.

At 12pm on Friday afternoon, the company gathered outside, to watch Carol, FATHOM’s General Manager, shave off James’ hair. Cheered on by the rest of the company, he sat stoically as his hair fell down around him. Not only did James raise over £280 towards our target in just 10 minutes, but every member of the team that was able to leave their desk or station, came along to show their support for James.

They say you should lead by example, well James certainly did that, an additional 3 members of the team volunteered to have a trim as well, all to support the cause. It was a fantastic lunch break that left everyone with smiles on their faces all afternoon. This week, the Paint Shop team will continue to raise funds for the Air Ambulance by hosting a company wide BBQ! We’ll keep you up to date with how they get on!
