31,000 To Colour B&Q Retail

Retail

FATHOM completed two major projects phases with B&Q, creating colour chips for paint range reviews. Over 31 000 individual chips were made and delivered; spanning more than 300 colours on 5 different materials.

Each of the 31,000 colour chips is a small piece of wooden panel, onto which a colour or stain is applied, Each chip was then marked with their EAN reference and colour description, before being packaged by store type for direct delivery to 170 locations. This then allowed in store merchandising teams to easily identify each colour chip and mount them onto in-store ‘barker’ display boards.

The project demanded meticulous planning, a consistent professional approach, and the development of multiple methods of application to suit the wide range of products to be applied, ranging from emulsion and gloss, through to wood stain and varnish, in order to produce a fantastic end result.
